Military Symbol Generator: Documentation
Hey there! You’re looking at the official documentation of the Military Symbol Generator hosted on www.symbol.army. Here you find all you need to know on how to create, modify and share military symbols according to the international standards.
symbol.army is a web application for drawing military symbols and tactical graphics according to the MIL-STD-2525C standard. You choose a symbol, set its affiliation, echelon and modifiers, and download the result as an image or share it as a link. Nothing needs to be installed, and the app also works as an installable Progressive Web App.
This documentation is written for symbology authors, staff officers and hobbyists, not for software developers. Every page explains one task in plain language.
New here? Start with Getting Started. It opens the app, creates a first single-point symbol and then a first tactical graphic with several reference points.
