Search, Share, Download Military Symbols
Everyday operations on individual military symbols: search for a symbol by name, share it through a URL link, download it as an image file, or delete it from the Main Window:
This section covers the everyday actions you perform on a finished or half-finished military symbol: finding it, sharing it, exporting it and starting over. Each page is a short how-to for staff officers and symbology authors who want to get a symbol out of the app and into a briefing, an e-mail or a document.
A typical session follows this order:
- Search Military Symbol helps you find the right MIL-STD-2525 Base Symbol or tactical graphic by name, with a branch filter. Start here when you do not know the SIDC.
- Download Military Symbol saves the symbol as an image file, either as a vector graphic (SVG, EMF, XAML) or as a pixel image (PNG, JPEG, BMP, ICO). Use vector formats when the symbol will be scaled or printed.
- Share Military Symbol via URL creates a link that carries the complete symbol. The app has no save-to-file, so this link is also how you keep a symbol for later.
- Remove Military Symbol resets the Main Window to the default symbol when you want to begin a new one.
