Military Symbol Display and Export Options

This section is the reference for every setting of the Military Symbol Generator. It is for readers who want symbols to look the same every time, or who need a specific file format and size for a report, a slide deck or a print job. You do not need to read it from start to finish. Open the page that matches the question you have.

If you are setting up the app for the first time, go through the pages in this order:

  1. General Options holds the application-wide settings: theme, language, notifications and the Work Mode. The Work Mode decides which symbology is used: International means the symbols of MIL-STD-2525C, Extended adds Swiss symbols.
  2. Symbol Format controls how a symbol is drawn, for example its size, frame, fill, icon and text modifiers. Use it when a symbol looks different from what you need, for 1-point symbols and for tactical graphics.
  3. Export Format sets the file type and pixel size used for downloads. Pick a vector format for scalable results or a pixel format such as PNG for documents and web pages.

Settings are stored in your browser, so they stay in place the next time you open the app on the same device.
